Whether it be a batch of cookies whipped up on a whim to cheer up a friend, or the cake you bake to take to your neighbor who just lost his wife, down to the batch of brownies that you and your kids bake together one rainy afternoon, nothing brings a smile to a face faster than lovin from the oven.

What most don't realize, though, is just how inexpensive it is to make your own cookies, pies, cakes, cupcakes, especially breads, and the like. Of course, there is an intimidation factor for those of us who might not have ever made bread, or decorated their own cakes.

I am hoping that this blog will inspire everyone to fire up their ovens. I'll not only offer recipes, but tips on how to save even more money along the way, because honestly, who doesn't want to be frugal and still have frosting??
